Terms of Service

These terms cover the ShowMacros Chrome extension and the Pro subscription. ShowMacros is run by one person in Switzerland. Questions: support@showmacros.com.
Free and Pro
- Free: unlimited scans with no account, within a daily fair-use limit that stops automated overuse. Pro features are free on your first 3 recipes. The free plan does not expire.
- Pro: ingredient swaps and edits, your own daily targets, and saving your recipes across devices.
- Prices are in US dollars and shown before you pay. Taxes may be added where required.
Billing and renewal
- Monthly: $3.99, charged at the start of each month.
- Yearly: $35.88, charged all at once at the start of each year.
- Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
- Who you pay: Pro is sold through Link, a payments service by Stripe, which acts as the seller of record. Link handles checkout, billing, receipts and any sales tax or VAT (prices include tax). Your card statement shows LINK.COM* SHOWMACROS.
- If a payment fails, Link retries it for a short time. If it still fails, the subscription ends and your account goes back to Free.
- If the price ever changes, you'll hear about it at least 30 days before it applies to you. While you stay subscribed, you keep the price you signed up at.
Cancelling
- Cancel anytime from the extension (menu, then Manage subscription), at link.com, or by emailing support@showmacros.com.
- Pro stays on until the end of the period you already paid for, then stops. Nothing more is charged.
- Yearly plan: 14-day refund. If you change your mind, email me at support@showmacros.com within 14 days of buying or renewing a yearly plan and I'll refund it in full.
- Otherwise, partial periods are not refunded, except where the law gives you a right to a refund. For example, if you live in the EU or UK you can cancel within 14 days of first subscribing and get your money back: just email me. As the seller, Link can also refund a payment within 60 days.
Referrals
When a friend joins with your code, you both get 2 months of Pro. Codes have no cash value, work once per new account, and the program can change or end at any time. Pro time you have already received is kept.
Nutrition numbers are estimates
ShowMacros matches ingredients to the USDA FoodData Central database and built-in nutrition tables. Recipes are written in many ways, so the numbers are estimates and can be wrong. Ingredients marked with an orange or red dot are less certain. ShowMacros is not medical or dietary advice and does not check for allergens. If you have a medical condition, an eating disorder, or an allergy, talk to a doctor or dietitian and don't rely on ShowMacros.
Fair use
Please use ShowMacros for your own cooking and tracking. Don't resell it, scrape the service, or run automated scans against it. Accounts that abuse the service can be suspended.
The service
ShowMacros is provided as it is. Features can change, and it may sometimes be unavailable. As far as the law allows, liability is limited to the amount you paid for ShowMacros in the last 12 months. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law where you live.
Law
These terms are governed by Swiss law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protections of the law of the country you live in.
Changes
Changes are posted here with a new "Last updated" date. Important changes are also shown in the extension.
